I hope today that I helped to solve (or at least begin to solve) a communication issue with one of my teachers. We all seem to have different concepts on how to interact with children and just what kind of support they need with homework. However, I've found that the best way to approach this difference in oppinion is to bring all parties involved to the table and have them meet on common ground: the improvement of the child's work and interest in their education. However, in my capacity, the teacher trumps me every time by hierarchy alone. So, its nice to be able to convince one to come to the table to talk with us young hooligans working with their students. Small victories.
